Let there be Rain

My Yarnday grousing paid off when I got home yesterday. A package full of sock yarn, lace yarn and Barbara Walker's A Treasury of Knitting Patterns along with alotta rain fell from the Heavens onto my doorstep. I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure the stone tablets inside the package said "Cast On Lest Ye Be Judged By Others." And we all know what happens to the fools who ignore Divine Inspiration*.
The socks are for my Sockapalooza pal. The pattern is loosely based on a stitch pattern found in the Sacred Text, A Treasury of Knitting Patterns. I admit the patterning is a wee bit hard to see. But I can see it if I squint my eyes really hard, and so I feel insufferably pleased with myself. The colorway is called Tropical Sunrise which morphed into Tequila Sunrise and then Tequila Surprise (For my sockpal? A surprise?). Maybe I'll send her a bottle of hooch to wear with the socks.
Fools who ignore the urge to cast on are often punished in mysterious but powerful ways.
I knew I should have bought more yarn on Friday.
The Reemergence of the Scrunch
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the Scrunchy I spied on my way into Campus this morning. I am hoping beyond hope this means I can dig out my rainbow and lace covered tracksuit from the bowels of my closet.
