By the seat of my pants

I had a deep seated fear that I would be that parent on the airplane. Fortunately Maya did great. On the flight out we had the aisle to ourselves and Little Miss played to her hearts content.
However I was that knitter on the airplane.
My Denise Needles broke mere seconds after the pilot announced we were grounded on the tarmac an additional hour before take off. Sheared right off at the join. Note the broken needles form an "F" which corresponds to the first letter of the first word out of my mouth when it happened.
Not all was lost. I drowned my sorrow (and boosted my morale) in a fantastic chocolate truffle found here.
At the Smithsonian Institution Building on the Mall in DC. Take a stroll around the outer garden. It is magnificent.
I took a page from the sage advice in front of the Department of Justice.
The world would be a better place if we all took note.
Maya was cuddled, and loved by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, Cousins, and Friends.
I hope one day Maya is engaged by my hometown. Though I've migrated west my family has hundreds of years of history in the Shenandoah Valley.
Surely that history runs through her veins just as it does mine.
