Thanks to every one who commented on Maya's 2nd Birthday post! Congratulations to Liz and blogless Joyce. I hope you enjoy making your Mama Janes!
We had a party for Maya at her Nana's house. I think Maya felt overwhelmed by all the camera flash, toys, and youthful exuberance.
She covered her eyes just like this for every picture. But she ate cake, opened presents and was merry. It was a success.
In the spirit of parental overachievement I put together the kid kraft retro kitchen the morning of Maya's birthday.
It took 4 hours, 184 pieces, 425 cuss words, and a few tears but it was worth it. Maya seems to enjoy the kitchen. Her favorite part is wearing the little sink on her head as a hat, surpassing her Mama who likes to occasionally wear a lampshade. Particularly after large scale child toy assembly.

Awwww I’ll bet those flashing cameras are hard to bear with. Birthday/Holiday Paparazzi are plentiful at celebrations, especially clustered together showing off their cameras. The little chef, and her new kitchen, are adorable!

Hmm, sink on her head… I think the cylon raider has struck again :)
I am very impressed you put a whole kitchen. and only used 425 curse words.

And those burners work as well as some of the ones on my Thermador do.

The site clearly states that the kitchen is for 3 year olds… you better make sure she doesnt try to eat the sink.
I love the blue dress and hat! And the shy two year old.

I hope you had a bottle of wine to go with that lampshade. Remodeling kitchens is tough work.
Darn paparazzi! You can’t get away from them ANYWHERE in LA.

Dude. That gift is SO AWESOME. I’m coming over to play with it!

PS! Only 425 cuss words? I would have passed that before I even got all the pieces out of the box.

so she’s moved on to sinks now. Guess it’s definitely a step up from the Dowa toilet.
