Operation Potty Train 2000

Maya loves her Thomas Train. She sets her cheerios on Thomas the Engine, sits herself on the cargo car and has as much fun as a two year old can shake a princess wand at while making choo choo noises and consuming her part of our Cheerio GNP.
While thinking about her train proclivities it occurred to me I could use her love for trains as a potty training tool. So off to the store we went in search of suitable "twains." As I walked up and down the toy aisle (after recovering from the Thomas sticker shock) I found some trains that don't break the bank and held her interest.
And as of this morning stage 1 of Operation Potty Train 2000 is complete. She sat on the potty for the longest period in potty history because she got to play with her twains.
Shortly after stage 1 I covertly instituted stage 2, Operation Elmo aka Elmo Potty Time.
She quickly saw through my plan and after sitting through about five minutes of the DVD moved on to other things. Little does she know I'm about to take away all tv privileges save for her Elmo DVD. I think this process is retwaining both Mama and Kiddo. Will report back soon hopefully not up to my ears in stage 2 doo.
RICE Shawl
Initially I wanted to name this design Moraine for the lace bit up the center. But after knitting too much too quickly in my haste to finish I am forced to wave the white flag of wrist injury defeat. So Rest-Ice-Compression-Elevate it is.
And the bitter irony? I ran out of yarn and the shawl was sidelined before it could be finished. Karmic retribution to be sure.

I agree she gets cuter and cuter by the day!
Just from your pictures Maya seems to have quite the little personality! I see so much of your face in hers!
Oh, and as i log into Ravelry today, what do i see but a Fickleknitter Design as a featured pattern! Congrats!

    Knitting is a harsh mistress.
Dang your kid gets more adorable all the time! Also she seems to be aging a bit. You might want to put a stop to that. Well, after the potty training thing is done.

What kind of wrist injury? I think I have tendonitis (de Quervain’s tenosynitis) and I want it to stop! Any recommendations from personal experience? Hope yours feels better soon!

Karmic retribution… (really, I’m not laughing at you, just the wording).
So glad to be on the other side of potty twaining- though i do miss sweet toddlers. Can’t wait to hear her progress- you could have a book deal in the making…
