[caption id="attachment_954" align="alignright" width="222" caption="The Tin Hat"]Tin Hat[/caption] My name is Michelle Miller and I design and knit tin hats. This weekend I traveled to New York City to attend the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool festival in the Hudson Valley. The Tin Hat was also in attendance. This is my story.

[caption id="attachment_966" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Tin Hat Not Socialzing"]Tin Hat Not Socialzing[/caption] We arrived at the fairgrounds after a harrowing drive surrounded by agro New Yorker driving.

Tin Hat got out to stretch her legs at the Ravelry Meet Up. Witness Tin Hat Not Socializing unless by socializing you mean consuming pumpkin spice cupcakes.

And the only thing better than Tin Hat Not Socializing is Tin Hat Not Exercising. Tin Hat patently refuses to do any exercise that involves such tasks as "hula hooping."

[caption id="attachment_980" align="alignleft" width="175" caption="Tin Hat Interlude with Fangtasia"]Tin Hat Interlude with Fangtasia[/caption] After all that not socializing and not exercising Tin Hat decided to wander into the Book Signing building where Tin Hat had a romantic interlude with a British True Blood Fan, KnitBrit Andi. Hello? Eric for President. Of my pants.
Among the highlights of the show was the rumor that Uma Thurman and Johnny Depp attended the Sheep and Wool Festival. Tin Hat saw no such hollywood royalty much like at home in Orange County, Ca, basement to the stars.

Thanks for taking the time to read my Tin Hat Adventures. If you enjoyed this post please visit my ravelry shop or my etsy shop and pick up a pattern or two to help keep the lights on and the tin hat traveling.

Oh I don’t know, I think the blond in that picture looks a lot like Uma. If I could only see her eyes than I could really tell…

That was you in the tin hat?! I saw you at the Ravelry party, but I think the tin hat hid your identity otherwise I would have said hi!

Will Tin Hat be horrified if I say that I’ve been thinking I should try the gym at my apartment complex? Or that hooping does look sorta fun to me? But only because these might be exercising that I could do without socializing. Because exercising + socializing? No. Freaking. Way.

Socializing requires food, beverage, and knitting. Music can be nice also. But socializing should never include exercising. I shudder to think of it!

p.s. I think Tin Hat may be attending Torrance event in November? What about AlpacaFest West?
