Sandy is celebrating her 6th year in business with an awesome giveaway of Fickle Knitter patterns and enough of her hand dyed 1 ply merino pictured above to make the Sookie Stackhouse Trio just in time for the new release of Charlaine Harris' latest book in the series.

I have a special fondness for Sandy because she was the first yarn shop owner to wholesale my patterns back in 2009 at and gave me my first chance to stand out as a new designer. I stayed with Sandra and her lovely husband this past October during Rhinebeck and I got to see first hand the behind the scenes stock and work that goes into running a web store. I tried stuffing all the yarn in my pants before I left but Sandy wasn't having it. You can thank me for leaving you all yarn to buy later.

So please check out the anniversary post on Knitting with Sandra Singh and the interview for some insight into how I roll. For example I let my child and husband turn feral for a time while pattern writing and how much money that can be saved by wearing pajamas and washing your hair every other day. You could spend that savings that you learned about over at so she can keep supporting indie artists like me.
